Report from the CCEDC Investors Meeting, July 21 2006

Annual Meeting Recap

     Executive Director Lee Conrad announced that despite a very challenging year, the organization ending the year with a record number of investors and anticipated investment amounts of over $80,000.
     Mr. Conrad also announced plans to implement a program to discuss the needs of local industries. He will meet quarterly with the group to try to help businesses with problems they encounter and also to attempt to find additional funding for them through grants, etc. In his presentation he spoke of the EdTech Center becoming a “wireless Hot Spot” and finding ways to utilize the Center to help train workers for local industries. He also talked about receiving an $80,000 CEGG grant to help with the development of Industrial Park North, (IPN).
     Dr. Judith Rhoads, president of Madisonville Community College was on hand to announce
that the college was once again donating a sum of money to the EdTech Center and that this was the first time that money was included for the local promotion of MCC classes at the Center. This fall the EdTech Center will host 10 MCC classes.
     Long time board members Gordon Guess and Zac Greenwell were presented with plaques
recognizing their service to the CCEDC and their resignations were announced.

The award was presented by his son, Dr. Johnny Newcom of HealthQuest
