Sen. McConnell Visits "The House That Mitch Built"

While speaking to supporters gathered at the Educational-Technical Training Center , Senator Mitch McConnell, highlighted his work to secure over $1 million in funding for Crittenden County projects including the Ed-Tech Training Center and the Marion Airport.

Crittenden County Judge Executive Fred Brown praised McConnell’s leadership in the Senate, and especially how it benefits West Kentucky. Judge Brown jokingly called the Ed-Tech Center "the house that Mitch built," a reference to McConnell's part in securing federal funding.

McConnell is the Republican leader of the US Senate and only the second Kentuckian to lead his party. Paducah's Alben Barkley was the Democratic Senate leader in the late 1940's, becoming vice president under Harry Truman.

Labor Secretary Elaine Chao is the only one of President George W. Bush's cabinet secretaries to remain through both terms.
