Every
community claims their school system is among the best. In Marion, we let the
numbers and citations speak for themselves. Both the state and federal Departments
of Education have recognized the local school district as one of the finest. The
county's four schools (one elementary school, one middle school, one high school,
and one alternative school) were all designated "Reward Schools" because
of their performance on state testing. In 1986, Crittenden County Elementary School
was selected as one of the nation's top 250 elementary schools.
Activities The
school system offers a full slate of activities to further enhance the development
of the total person. Competitive academic and athletic teams are just part of
the equation. Active art groups and publications allow students to explore their
creative side, while organizations such as FFA, FBLA, and 4-H help them prepare
for the future. Also, the district boasts Chess Teams that have won state championships
and placed well in national competitions.
